Who will be the 2019 Pulitzer Prize Winner for Fiction?

March 5, 2019

The 2019 Pulitzer Prizes will be announced on April 15th at 3:00 PM EST. The names of the finalists are not released ahead of time, and so the winner is a surprise every year. For eleven years we have been posting a prediction list prepared by a fellow Pulitzer collector and research scientist. The list is the product of a regression analysis that weighs a given book's performance in other book awards, as well as the author's past award and nomination history.

We will once again attempt to predict the winner for fiction. Our final list will be available early in April. Until then here is an update to our preliminary prediction list that uses the same regression analysis and model that predicted the winner in the The 2018 Pulitzer Prize Winner list. Please keep in mind that this is a prediction and in no way can we guarantee the prize outcome. But we can always count on insightful community discussions. The books that are surfaced, and the comments about them are always engaging and interesting.
