The copyright page states "Published May, 1936" with no other printing statements. Books that say "Published June, 1936" are second printings. Back of dust jacket lists books offered by the publisher. On the first printing dust jacket, "GONE WITH THE WIND" is in the right column. In the next printing "GONE WITH THE WIND" was moved to the very top of the left column. After that, the dust jacket back contains reviews of the book.

After the author's death, the estate of Margaret Mitchell sanctioned Alexandra Ripley to write the official sequel which was published as Scarlett in 1991.

Gone with the Wind book won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.

I have what appears to be an edition of Gone With the Wind. No dust cover. One the published page, it states as above except it does not state " set up and electrotyped, published May 1936" Can you advise what edition this is

I have a gone with the wind, plain green cover with 1936 copyright Macmillan Company New York, 689 pages. A Plain Jane. Can you give me any info. Thanks
