The true first edition carries "First Edition" and H-H (August 1933) on copyright page. The book is black cloth with gold letters. The first printing jacket carries a quote from Anne Parrish across the top and a price of $2.00. The Anne Parrish quote say "What a beautiful book - Beautiful and deeply moving". Later printing dust jackets reference the Pulitzer Prize across the top and carry a price of $2.50. First printings are extremely scarce and rarely offered for sale.

Lamb in his Bosom book won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.
